Advocates on Patrol
When a police officer visits a home on a domestic violence call, chances are good that that officer will be back several times, until something breaks the cycle of violence. That situation is what led Eureka Police to team up with Humboldt Domestic Violence Services on a pilot project... now domestic violence advocates join EPD officers on patrol, giving a new dimension to how police are able to handle some situations. We'll visit with the bosses at EPD and HDVS.
