Redefining Local Media
The "local media" used to entail the usual suspects: newspaper, TV and radio. But now, the local media is much more diverse, and sometimes hard to categorize. Anyone with a laptop and a wifi connection can begin covering their community -- and in some cases wield influence that rivals the old guard. We meet people who are using the web to cover their communities in creative ways. Guests include: Doni Greenberg and Kelly Brewer, former Redding Record-Searchlight employees who now run ANewsCafe.com, Jim Teece, owner of Ashland TV, and Shields Bialasik, creator of the Ashland Locals Guide.
